Oak Brook Historical Society

Welcome!

The Oak Brook Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of Oak Brook, Illinois. Through events, educational programs, and community engagement, the Society strives to honor the legacy of the village and its founders.

We are currently restoring the historic Old Butler School, which will become the Oak Brook Heritage Center. Operated by the Historical Society, the Heritage Center will serve as an educational resource, offering exhibits, programs, and opportunities to explore Oak Brook's rich heritage. This space will welcome residents, schoolchildren, families, and visitors to connect with the past and envision the future.

Upcoming Events

"The bond between the Village of Oak Brook and the Oak Brook Historical Society is unshakeable.

The work that the OBHS does to preserve, honor and educate about our Village’s rich history is remarkable. As the Village evolves, we continue to make history and we will be there with the OBHS to capture our past and future together."

- Village President Larry Herman
